Tours & Retreats

We hold several weekend quilt retreats per year, plus our Machine Embroidery Retreats. We provide Saturday evening dinner, water and iced tea, as well as ironing stations, tables, cutting stations, and chairs. Retreat will begin at Noon on Friday and you can sew until midnight. The room is locked when we leave so you can feel comfortable leaving your materials spread out over night. Saturday the retreat runs from 9am - midnight and Sunday from 9am-3pm. Quilter's Cupboard is always open to retreat goers and we offer a 10% discount to our guests all weekend long, as well as a special shopping event on Saturday night. Just $60 for the weekend. March 24-26, 2023 We are very excited to have our retreats at the American Legion Hall at 521 SW 3rd Street. The best part - we are walking distance to Quilter's Cupboard! Quilt retreats are a bit like the old sewing bees. It gives quilters the opportunity to gab and do what they love best. Our Iowa Quilt Festival retreat will give you all the time you need to catch up with your quilting friends and meet new ones! Our retreat takes place in the beautiful rustic Winterset Livery where you can sew all day and/or take a class also taking place May 31 – June 2. Stay one more day to take in all of the beautiful quilts at the finale of our festival the Airing of the Quilts. Starts at 9 AM, Wednesday, May 31 and ends at 3 PM, Friday, June 2
